Emboss Explained:
1. The process of creating a 3-dimensional or raised design on the surface of an object.
2. Where debossing is a design sunken into the surface of a material, embossing is where the opposite principle applies, with the design being raised against the background.
3. Elevates the standard and quality of a product.
4. Applications: Paper, plastic, fabric, leather, silicone and metal.
1
Embossing requires two custom dies – one that is raised and one that is recessed.
2
The dies are inserted into a press where they are heated up.
3
The press closes with your item in between the plates.
